Collector FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions:

Where are you based?

I currently work and ship from my home studio in Perth, Western Australia.

What type of canvas do you use?

All of my medium and large-scale canvas bars are custom made locally by an experienced framing company. We then stretch triple-primed smooth cotton or linen canvas over the heavy-duty pine bars. My smaller sized canvases are professional artist-grade canvases from local stores either pre-stretched or stretched by myself.

What materials do you use?

I mostly opt for oil over acrylic and an archival-grade acrylic gel medium or paste for textured pieces. Some paintings are entirely acrylic. My favourite brands include GOLDEN, Liquitex, Gamblin, Daler Rowney, Art Spectrum, Chromacryl and Sennelier pastels. My favourite oil painting mediums include Galkyd Lite and Gamsol.

Do you varnish your paintings?

Yes. I mostly use satin varnish. My favourite brands include Gamblin’s Gamvar, Winsor&Newton Professional and Micador.

Are paintings ready to hang?

Please see each individual listing description to see if the painting is shipped stretched and ready to hang or shipped rolled.

Before shipping out my stretched work, I always ensure they have hanging hardware drilled into the back of the canvas alongside hanging wire or cord. For large or extra heavy pieces, you may want to add on even more reinforcement or hooks for hanging which can be attached to the back.

Paintings shipped rolled (much like prints) can easily be taken to your local framers to be stretched and optionally framed.

How does shipping work?

Please see each individual listing description to see if the painting is shipped stretched and ready to hang or shipped rolled.

My paintings are either packaged and shipped out by myself from my home studio or from my packing partners at Pack&Send who professionally package my work and ensure it is safe for the journey.

Rolled paintings and smaller stretched works are wrapped and boxed in thick cardboard and large-scale stretched works are shipped in custom wooden crates. Within Australia, we ship express with TNT, DHL or Australia Post and internationally, we ship express with DHL or Australia Post. Over the past few years, my paintings of all different sizes have successfully been delivered globally to Australia, USA, UK, Europe and Asia.

My prints are shipped express directly from the photo lab here in Western Australia with Australia Post. The team package small prints flat in extra strong cardboard and larger prints get rolled up inside thick cardboard tubes.

Are shipments tracked?

All paintings and prints are shipped express and receive a tracking number for you to track the shipping journey. As soon as your shipment dispatches, I will attach your tracking number to your dispatch email.

Will I have to pay import fees/tariffs/duty if I am outside Australia?

Depending on your individual country of residence and import laws surrounding artwork, you may be subject to pay import fees on your order value. The shipping company will likely contact you prior to delivery if you have to pay any fees.

Can I pay for an original painting in instalments?

With a non-refundable 10% deposit, original painting purchases can be split across a maximum of 3 payments over 3 months. When all payments have been made, the painting will be shipped.

Please email me to arrange custom payment instalments.

Can I send you photos of the artwork in my home?

Please! I love seeing paintings and prints in their new homes. You can email me or send me photos on Instagram.

Do you take on commissions?

My commissions are currently closed. I will announce when they re-open in the future.
